New Camera

I have been in the market for a new digital camera for quite some time now. My co-worker Julie just bought a new one, and brought it in for me to try....and I took it over to daycare to snap some photos of Harper. And I fell in love with the camera - it has great zoom, it's super fast and it's compact. So I went to Best Buy online last night and bought it. Now I'm patiently awaiting its arrival.

Vacation

We just returned from our first family vactation. We went to Wisconsin. Noah's parents have a time share in the Dells....so we spent a night in Milwaukee with Lori before heading over to the Dells. It was a great trip. We were able to plan naps, feedings pretty well - so Harper did great.

Some highlights and photos:
  • Beautiful resort we stayed at. Had 3 BR, 2 Bath condo....and the complex was HUGE....with tons of water parks, game areas, etc. It was awesome! Thank you Bob & Karen!
  • Harper learned to scream on the drive up to Wisconsin - and continued to scream (a happy scream) the entire trip!
  • She's learned her "m's" - so we've been hearing mmmmah, mmmmah. Yeay!
  • She crawls backwards all over the place - you'll notice in the photos below she gets stuck in some interesting places.
  • Walked along Lake Michigan with Lori.
  • Lots of swimming at the water parks at the Dells.
  • To and from we stopped at Great Grandpa Wendt's. He turned 89 on August 16. Seeing him makes me miss my G'pa Sandquist so very much!
  • We had lunch on our way up where she got to sit in a highchair at a restaurant for the first time. She loved it - and proceeded to scream her happy scream for all others to hear!
  • The Dells had a Tanger Outlet Mall - so Noah's mom and I did a little shopping and stocked up on some great fall clothes for Harper!

Now....the photos:

Eating at the restaurant!
What baby? She's practically a toddler standing like this. Ugh!

Playing with her toys.

At Moosejaw Pizza & Brewery. You get moose ears to wear!

Noah reading. He's really into the Warren Buffet biography "Snow Ball" right now.

At an indoor water park.

Showing just how far she can scoot. She started on the blanket and ended up in the next room!

Getting stuck. Oops.

Harper in her moose ears back home with G'pa Sandquist.

G'pa took us out to eat at bar/restaurant. Thank goodness for the no-smoking orindance!

She's Growing Fast

We are having a great summer...lots of fun, and she's growing fast! Amazed each day with how much she's changing! We're heading on vacation next week - off to visit my friend Lori in Milwaukee, then joining Noah's family in the Dells for several days. We are looking forward to a break before busy fall begins! Enjoy some photos below...

Harper had her first "incident report" at daycare. She was sitting up and fell over and hit her head on the book shelf. Just a small bruise to show for it.
You can see her 2 bottom teeth. We keep thinking her top 2 are coming soon...but nothing yet!

When you live in a 110 year old farm house, with a dirt floor basement, there's not a lot of storage for baby stuff. So we bought a storage shed!

And because nothing ever goes smoothly in the Wendt household, we got home with our brand-new storage shed from Menards to realize they forgot to load box 1 of 2....and never told us there were 2 boxes in our order. So this is Noah frustrated on the phone with Menards...

Harper trying to help Daddy...

That same weekend, she started sticking her tongue out when she was doing stuff. It was cute, and she really hasn't done it since!

And then there's goofy Mollie who decided she wanted to wear one of Harper's swim diapers at the pool. What a goof-ball!

Doing what she loves best right now - playing with toys on the floor. Notice all the drool too!

She's really starting to move around on the floor - up on all fours scooting backwards and rolling around. In this photo she scooted herself all the way from the edge of our kitchen to under the dining room table. It was cute!

She still loves her jump-a-roo. We had to raise it up this weekend because she's getting so tall!

Harper loves the camera. All I have to do is hold it out in front of her and she looks at it and smiles! It's hard to resist not grabbing it for everything she does!
