TV Debut for Harper

So we needed some young babes to be "models" in a segment we were doing regarding car seat safety best practices. Harper and a friend were those models. Check out the clips below. I love the one where she dumps her cereal out of the bowl all over herself while the camera is on her. And there is a cute part where she and her friend are sharing toys and holding hands. So sweet - enjoy!

Family

Had a great weekend in Minnesota last weekend.  Amy, Max, Mollie, Harper and I travelled north for a 70th b-day party for our Aunt Martha at her daughter Mary's house. It was a great time. Harper was able to meet a lot of my family for the first time.  She especially loved Katie (Mary's daughter).  We are very hopefully Katie will be attending ISU in a year...that's her college of choice.  Would be so very cool to have her close-by!  The trip was great - and Harper did a pretty good job.  She did not really sleep well, and when she was up at 3:15 a.m. early Saturday morning....then causing everyone to get up at 4 a.m., Max said: "I really do not appreciate Harper waking me up so early." I agree Max....

Harper enjoying her first order of chicken fingers and fries from a restaurant.  Our picky eater really liked the fries dipped in ketchup.

Playing with the kids outside at Mary's...holding bubbles in hopes of someone blowing some her way.

She likes the stairs! Thankfully she obeys and only climbs up one or two.

One might think that Harper is holding swim goggles.  But no, these are actually "doggles".  Goggles for Mary's dog who has an eye sensitivity! Yep - doggles!

When we all get together, we spend a good hour taking photos of the different families! This is my version...I'm in the porch in Mary's house, taking photos out the window of everyone taking photos of Mary's family!  Hilarious.

Harper playing with Katie!

Harper thinking she's an American Girl Doll. That's what this little couch is made for - dollies! But Harper thought it was just the right size for her!

Harper's Words

She's learning more and more words, and it's fun to say words to see if she will repeat them.  Her vocabulary consists of:
  • Mommy
  • Daddy
  • Puppy
  • Kitty
  • Cow
  • Cool
  • Night Night
  • Bye
  • Hi
  • Bubbles
  • Poppy (Grandpa)
  • Amy
  • Mollie (Maw-yee)
  • Bye-go (when she wants to go bye-bye)
  • Up (when she wants picked up)
  • No
  • More
  • Monkey
  • Ah Duh (all done)

Hat Girl

As you've seen in previous posts, Harper likes to put things on her head....baskets, pajamas, toy buckets, etc. That's transpired into her liking to wear hats. Enjoy the photos below of her in a variety of hats!

Mommy got a new hat for the summer, which Harper thought was her new hat.

In the hat while cuddled up with Grandma on the couch before bed.

Very excited about Mommy's new hat.

This on is a new hat for Harper. She likes to wear it backwards as well.

Yes, I know I am cute in my hat.

Up at G'ma and G'pas playing with Brett.

A different style of hat, but loving it none-the-less!

More Spring Fun

For some reason, Harper likes to stick her bottom lip out...even when she's not pouting. Quite cute!

The girl loves to put things on her head...not sure where this comes from! So this is her Easter basket on her head.

Visiting Great Grandpa Wendt. She liked giving him "fives" and blowing him kisses.

Our picky eater...seems to help if we let her "dip" her food in something. So here she's dipping bread in baby sweet potatoes. We are at the point where if it gets her to eat, so be it!

She loves bubbles! She loves to say "bubbles".

Watching the bubbles float around her!

Oooo, more bubbles!

Getting a ride on Daddy's shoulders.

Snoozing on the drive home from Manchester...cuddling with her kitty!

Big Bud

While on our drive to Manchester, Noah knew of this farm "attraction" in Independence. So he wanted to stop and check it out. $20 and 15 minutes later, we had our fill of the "Big Bud"....or at least Harper and I had our fill!  It's this monsterous tractor, that someone custom-built. It's quite the spectacle. Noah was loving it.

Even Harper is checking it out!

Quite the huge wheels!

Asparagus

We were in Manchester over the weekend, and Noah's dad loaded us up with asparagus from his garden. It was delicious. Noah made bacon wrapped asparagus on the grill, and I made pasta dish with tomatoes, carrots and aspargus. Love this time of year with fresh produce from the garden!
