Big Sis!

We are excited to announce that Harper is going to be a big sister! Due date is April 15 - otherwise known as Tax Day. My dad and his brother have April 11 b-days, so maybe this baby will add to the celebration that day!

We've just started talking to Harper about having a baby brother or sister and she likes to talk about it but we aren't sure she really understands.  Noah told her last night that there is a baby in mommy's tummy. So she lifts up my shirt and tries to look thru my belly button to the baby. Then she lifts up her shirt to investigate her tummy/belly button. It was quite cute.

When I announced the pregnancy at work I became the 6th person in our Public Relations department that was pregnant.  Last week two of my co-workers delievered their babies on back-to-back days.  There could be a repeat in April as another co-worker and I are due 2 days apart.  Needless to say, our boss loves (not!) the revolving door of maternity leaves!  Me?  I'm thinking a 3 month maternity leave in the spring will be fabulous!

Now that the first trimester is over, I've been feeling much better.  Weeks 6-11 were pretty rough with all day nausea and headaches. I'm still not 100%, but definitely much better than before.

In farming news, harvest is going very well. Beans are complete and we are now working on corn. Yields are decent considering the rough weather we had in early summer. It's extremely dry in Iowa - but I think it rained a little today which is much needed.  Not sure if it's enough to slow the harvest down, though.
