16 Weeks

Sorry it's been a while...time flies when the weather gets nice! All last week we had great weather, and then things turned wet over the weekend. We got 3+ inches of rain over the weekend...but as near as Nevada (10-15 miles to the north) got 8+ inches! All that water is coming our way via the Skunk River. So let's hope the dikes/levies hold tight as Noah, Caleb and Steve have fields right along the river banks.

In Harper news, she continues to grow and jabber! We enjoy sitting and "talking" with her each night! She's also starting to really squirm. I put her in her crib with her head at one end, and in the morning when I go get her, her head is at the other end! Amazing how she gets scooted around.

Enjoy some photos from the past couple weeks!

Harper has been reaching and grabbing at toys.
She loves her hands. If they aren't busy with a toy or holding my hand, they are usually in her mouth!

Looking pretty on G'ma's lap. Hard to see, but those are little pigs on her jammies! Already a farm girl!
We love the smiles! Don't you?

One of her goofy faces as she's jabbering.

I love my bumbo chair.

Baby's First Easter

We had a great Easter with Harper. The Easter Bunny gifted her a new swing for our swing set outside, some new toys and pajamas. We took her to church for the first time. She lasted about 10 minutes in the pews, about another 5-10 minutes with Noah in the back of the church...then she decided it was time to eat. We knew this would happen based on her feeding scheduled, so she spent the remainder of church in the basement with Mommy eating, playing and sleeping.

Easter evening, we had dinner at Mom/Dad's and also celebrated their birthdays (Dad's was April 11 and Mom's is April 23). It was a fun night.

Of course, I had to get Harper an Easter dress which she wore all day....enjoy the photos above in her pretty dress!

In other Harper news, she rolled over for the first time on Saturday! From her tummy to her back. I captured it on video too. Hopefully I'll figure out how to load it onto the blog soon. It was pretty exciting! She's growing up so fast!

A Baby Shower - At Last

My Blank work family had originally planned planned a baby shower for me on January 7. As you know, Harper arrived January 4. So the baby shower was postponed....until April 8. It was a great shower - it was a potluck lunch with lots of great gifts! Harper was able to join us all at the shower. And she had a great time! See photos below...

Harper's Teacher

I have to take a moment and brag about Harper's daycare teacher....she's wonderful, and others would agree! She was just awarded a national "Teacher of the Year" award!! Formally, it's the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation’s (TLLCCF) top honor – the Helene Marks Award as the National Child Care Teacher of the Year. Donna was one of the top ten scores for the award, and was invited to answer an additional essay question to qualify for the top honor. She was sent to Pennsylvania to receive her award. I just think it's pretty awesome - and what a testament to her dedication to children!

We knew Harper was in great hands - but feel even more lucky now to have such a wonderful teacher!

She's 3 Months!

Harper is now 3 months old. Hard to believe how fast it goes. She's really fun right now...always giving us lots of smiles and chatter. Enjoy the photos below from the weekend.
This is my shy smile...where I smile at you and then look away...

Not the greatest photo - but shows just how well she can hold her head up!

One of my many goofy faces I like to make for those who will watch!

A big congratulations to Amy and Nick Varcoe (blog on the right "The Varcoes") who welcomed Evan Nicholas on Friday. He's darling and has a full head of dark hair, with what looks like blond highlights. Super cute!
There were 3 of us co-workers that were all pregnant at the same time. Corey had Logan in October, Harper was born in January and Evan was just born. There is now a 4th co-worker that has joined the pregnancy ranks...but she's going to be doing it alone since all 3 of us are now done! Melissa will welcome her second baby in early October - and get this, she's also a Wartburg grad - just like Corey, Amy and I! It's just a revolving door of maternity leaves in Coporate Communications!

April Fools Jokes

There were some good April Fools jokes in the neighborhood this year. The first was at Amy and Russ'. As you can see, someone (who has remained nameless) decided to baracade their driveway while they were at work....and post a sign that says Wendts are #1. One might think Noah did it, but he was enroute to and from Burlington that day. I was at work. So that left us to believe Dad, Caleb and/or Steve. Dad denies it (of course)...so we are left to believe it was Steve and Caleb together.
Would make sense that Steve played the joke, because he also played one on me. Basically he led me to believe that he had started dating this girl (who he's good friends with) that I think is his perfect match. She even posted on Facebook that they were in a relationship, just to enhance the joke. I was actually believing it for about 8 hours, then a lightbulb in my head went off - and I then knew it was a joke. Grrr. I got back at him last night at a wedding, where I sat next to him and didn't speak a word to him for 30 minutes. It drove him crazy!
