Sick Baby

Harper has been sick off and on the past two weeks. It started with the hand/foot/mouth virus and fever, which lasted a few days. Then it was just a fever for 4 days. Now, we're concerned it might be stomach flu. All of these illnesses have been going around her daycare...so there really is no way to avoid it. We are fortunate, though, she has been in daycare for 5 months now, and this is really the first time she's had to stay home due to illness. So we really think that's pretty good.

Despite the illnesses, we've been able to capture some cute photos. Enjoy...

CyHawk Fun

At work, we love to celebrate the Iowa/Iowa State tradition with patients and staff. One way we do that is with these special "Hospital Divided" t-shirts. It's crazy how many we sell to staff - but it's a great fundraiser for our Child Life department and it's a fun thing to do. And so this year I had to get Harper one too!

Harvest Has Begun

Noah told me Sunday night: "It's officially busy season." Oh great. Seriously, did a year already pass since last harvest. I guess so. They are chopping, doing their last rounds of baling - and then will be combining before long.

So with all that "fun" I had to take Harper out to see her Daddy in the field and get her first tractor ride. Thankfully we were in a G'pa Sandquist tractor that was quiet, clean and had a buddy seat. Harper LOVED it. I can only imagine we'll be doing this more often! I even had to put her Pioneer hat on her to mark the occasion.

We Have a Crawler!

It's officially. After weeks of crawling backwards....Harper is now crawling forward! To really get her going - just put a remote control, a cell phone or a camera across the room and she will come after it in no time! It's so much fun!

She's Active!

Grabbing Daddy's chin...

Can you see the hair coming in?
Scooting to places she really shouldn't be - such as behind the end table, by the wall! She scooted her way thru the play gym to get to that spot - all backwards. Still not crawling forward yet - but close! Any day now...

Pretty Girl

My co-worker gave me this bow her daughter had while she was in the NICU 7 years ago. I had always wondered what Harper would look like in a bow! Now I know - CUTE!

Pear Tree

We have a pear tree in our back yard...and we decided to be proactive this year and pick the pears before they all fall to the ground.

Harper watched from her swing...

And then she got tired and needed a rest!
