Sadness

It is with enormous sadness that we inform all of you that our baby has died.

As many of you know, it was discovered that our baby boy had an extremely severe and rare heart defect – Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). This condition can be treated through a series of three extensive surgeries following the birth of a baby. However, an additional complication/defect was discovered - Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) - which negatively impacted the growth and development of our baby’s lungs. Because of this additional complication, our baby would not be a candidate for the HLHS surgeries.

In our pediatric cardiologist’s 15 years of practice, he had never seen HLHS with the PFO complication. He consulted with some of the best pediatric cardiologists in the nation, and it was determined there is no proven intervention to fix our baby's heart. Therefore, our little angel was born on Dec. 10.

Helping us through our sadness is our sweet Harper who keeps us smiling and laughing even during this difficult time. Being around her instantly lifts our spirits.

We are sorry to share such sad news. But we know so many of you were thinking and praying for us. And for that, we are extremely grateful and thankful.
